You can reach Ameland by ferry with Wagenborg from Holwerd (Friesland). The crossing takes approximately 45 minutes. It is advisable to book your ticket online in advance, especially during peak season. On the island you can use our bicycles or bring your own car.

During peak season the minimum stay is 3 nights, during low season it is 2 nights. Check the availability calendar for the exact periods and options.

Pets are always welcome at De Vrijheid, with a maximum of 2 per booking. A small surcharge per pet applies. We do ask you to clean up after your dog around the house. Ameland is very pet-friendly with plenty of walking opportunities.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM. We ask you to check out by 10:00 AM at the latest. Do you have a different arrival or departure time? Please contact us in advance to discuss the options.

Yes, there is ample parking directly at the holiday home. You can park for free on the property.

Bed linen (sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases) is always included in the rental price. Towels are not included — you can bring your own or rent them on site through a linen rental service on Ameland.

Yes, WiFi is available throughout the entire house. The network is free to use during your stay. Suitable for checking e-mail, social media and sharing your holiday photos.

De Vrijheid is within walking distance of all amenities in Hollum. Just 100 metres away you will find a supermarket, and the beach is 1.5 km away. The village has various restaurants, cafés and shops. The Hollum lighthouse is 1.3 km away. Nobel bicycle rental is 1.1 km away.

For cancellations up to 60 days before the start of the rental period, 100% of the rental sum will be refunded, minus €25 administration costs. For cancellations between 60 and 30 days before the start, 50% will be refunded. For cancellations less than 30 days before the start, no refund will be given. Cancellations must be made in writing by e-mail. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.

Absolutely! De Vrijheid is very suitable for families. There is a fully enclosed garden where children can play safely. The attic rooms are ideal as children's bedrooms. We provide a Tripp Trapp high chair, a child's bed and a baby bath. Ameland offers countless activities for children, from the beach and sea to the Nature Centre and seal sanctuary.

No, smoking is not permitted inside the holiday home. You are of course welcome to smoke outside on the terrace. If we discover that smoking has taken place indoors, the cleaning costs will be deducted from the security deposit.

The final cleaning is included in the rental price. We do ask you to leave the house swept and in a tidy state. Please load the dishwasher and separate the rubbish for disposal. This allows us to quickly prepare the house for the next guests.
