Conditions for renting De Vrijheid

Article 1 — Definitions

  1. Landlord: De Vrijheid, located on Ameland.
  2. Tenant: The person entering into the agreement with the landlord. The tenant must be at least 18 years old.
  3. Accommodation: The holiday home "De Vrijheid" on Ameland.
  4. Rental period: The period from arrival to departure as stated in the confirmation.

Article 2 — Reservation and payment

  1. A reservation can only be made by persons aged 18 or older. A date of birth is requested during booking for verification purposes.
  2. A reservation becomes final upon receipt of full payment.
  3. The rental price must be paid in full at the time of booking.
  4. Upon receipt of payment, the tenant will receive a confirmation by email.

Article 3 — Cancellation by tenant

  1. For cancellations up to 60 days before the start of the rental period, 100% of the rental amount will be refunded, minus €25 administration costs.
  2. For cancellations between 60 and 30 days before the start, 50% of the rental amount will be refunded.
  3. For cancellations less than 30 days before the start, no refund will be given.
  4. Cancellations must be made in writing (by email).
  5. We recommend taking out cancellation insurance.

Article 4 — Arrival and departure

  1. The accommodation is available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival.
  2. On the day of departure, the accommodation must be vacated by 10:00 AM at the latest.
  3. The accommodation must be left in the same condition as upon arrival, broom-clean.

Article 5 — Use of the accommodation

  1. The maximum number of persons permitted to stay in the accommodation is as specified in the booking.
  2. The tenant is responsible for the proper use of the accommodation and its inventory.
  3. Smoking inside the accommodation is not permitted.
  4. Organising parties or events is not permitted without prior written consent.

Article 6 — Pets

  1. Pets are welcome with prior permission and upon payment of the applicable surcharge.
  2. Pets are not allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms.
  3. The tenant is responsible for any damage caused by pets.

Article 7 — Liability

  1. The landlord is not liable for injury or damage to the tenant's property during the stay.
  2. The tenant is liable for all damage to the accommodation and/or inventory that occurred during the rental period.
  3. Any damage must be reported to the landlord immediately.

Article 8 — Force majeure

  1. In the event of force majeure, the landlord is not obliged to fulfil any obligation.
  2. Force majeure includes: natural disasters, government measures, and other circumstances beyond the landlord's control.

Article 9 — Complaints

  1. Any complaints should be reported to the landlord as soon as possible, preferably during the stay.
  2. The landlord will make every effort to resolve complaints as quickly as possible.

Article 10 — Applicable law

  1. All agreements are governed by Dutch law.
  2. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
