At De Vrijheid, dogs are warmly welcome. We understand that your four-legged friend is part of the family and comes along on holiday. Our holiday home in Hollum offers everything you and your dog need for a relaxing stay.
With a fully enclosed garden, your dog can safely play outside, while the beautiful beaches and dunes of Ameland are just a short walk away. The island is a true paradise for dogs with endless walking possibilities.
To keep the stay pleasant for everyone, we have a few rules for pets.
A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome in the holiday home. This ensures enough space for everyone.
A surcharge per stay is charged for each pet. This is automatically included when booking.
The garden is fully fenced, so your dog can safely run free. Please keep the garden clean by picking up after your dog.
We kindly ask you to clean up after your dog in and around the house and in the village. Poop bags are available at the local supermarket.
Ameland has beautiful, wide beaches where your dog can run and play freely. Outside the summer season (1 October to 1 May), dogs are welcome on all beaches, including off-leash.
During the summer season (1 May to 1 October), there are designated dog zones on the beach where your dog can also run free. These zones are clearly marked with signs. The nearest dog beach is just a few minutes by bike from De Vrijheid.
From De Vrijheid, you can walk directly into the dunes and forest with your dog. The extensive network of walking paths offers routes for every length, from a short loop through the dunes to a long beach walk.
We recommend the walk to the beach via the dune crossing at Hollum, or the route towards Het Oerd — a beautiful nature area on the eastern side of the island where you can spot magnificent birds.
There is a veterinarian on Ameland located in Nes. Emergency help is also available outside office hours.
At the supermarket in Hollum, you can find basic pet supplies such as food, poop bags and treats.
A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome at De Vrijheid.
The surcharge per pet per night is automatically calculated during the booking process. You will see the exact amount when entering the number of pets.
Yes, the garden is fully fenced with a gate. Your dog can safely roam free in the garden.
